QUERY: how to walk with gumps open?

What scale method is best for high resolution, eg. 800x600?

Am I correct that game width & screen width of 800x600 is right setting if I want to see larger distance of map?
(assuming have game style new)

It seems that in new game style... when I have gumps open, I cannot walk. Is there anyway to change settings so that I can still walk (eg. with cursor keys or mouse) and have gumps open?

Whichever you like best. Only Point and Interlaced work when scale_factor is not 2.

You can have it any size that is 320x200 or greater.
This will get you 800x600 before scaling. With a scale_factor of 2, that is 1600x1200.
  <screen_width>800</screen_width>
  <screen_height>600</screen_height>
  <game_width>800</game_width>
  <game_height>600</game_height>

Unfortunately, there isn't an option for that. You can click in the upper right and have sun/moon display show even when you move. Original+ game styles allow you to have a larger map and still use the original UI. You can enable popup gumps for signs, container, corpses, and the conversation gump in the gameplay and input option menus for all game styles (new style always uses them).

Thanks for the replies.

Can we put this in as a feature request? To allow us to walk even when gumps is open?
